What is The MS Diet Collective?
It’s a multiple sclerosis website whose main objective is to crowdsource wellness strategies.
Who were the first contributors inside The Recovery Community?
They are Wendy Wingo and Ty Shrake.
What were the different thought processes that led to the ideas behind The MS Diet Collective?
When the idea was initially conceived in 2012, it was my personal belief that The MS Society’s pursuit of double-blind studies and a cure was overemphasized. Today my feelings are this is no longer the case.
After the initial sign-up what is the deal with all the questions?
Through market research of The MS Diet Collective’s members we hope to create a less obtrusive ad space with more relative advertising.
The MS Diet Collective has a video platform. Why not stick with YouTube?
Again we want less distractions with fewer ads.
You mean no commercials on your video platform?
Yes.
Really? Wow! Ever?
We hope no video advertising ever.
If so, how will the site make money?
Again better targeted advertising to meet our demographic wherever they are.
Why did The MS Diet Collective decide not to use Google Adsense?
So much spaghetti thrown against a wall. Are you really in the market for tires, or some other obscure purchase? Usually you are not.
How often will there be a survey? What are the types of questions?
Where you live, what you buy, future purchases, and every 30 days.
Can a member skip the surveys?
No.
How else is The MS Diet Collective attempting to monetize the site?
Monthly user fee of maybe $2.00, video upload fee around $6 a month.
Anything else?
Possibly as the Community grows, but the users will always pay little to nothing for information.
Can you pay by the year?
Maybe? We don’t know.
What if I have a question not answered here?
There will be a Questions Forum always open for an Admin to respond.
What if I have a suggestion?
Let’s discuss it; leave it in the Forum.
What if I have a complaint?
You can write a ticket, or the Forum, your choice.
What if I believe there is a bug within the code, or if my complaint is actually an UX issue / suggestion, should I use the ticket system?
Screenshots would help to diagnose all problems. We think the ticket system works for both scenarios.
I have been diagnosed, but the website is leaving me with unmet needs. What type of outreach is available to me?
Maybe we should create some type of Help Desk with some consortium of Members / Practitioners on standby to offer suggestions. You could also use the Forum, or you can start a Group to see if others can help you fill that void.
What does The MS Diet Collective mean in its Terms of Use, “No Identifiers”?
Profile photos uploaded to the site will be taken down. This is a public forum with real-life consequences for members in some circumstances. Everyone deserves to feel safe.
Does that mean I must use a fake name?
This is at your discretion.
Will you have a profile and will you blog?
I will be blogging under a pseudonym; I won’t risk the Brand’s value while sharing experiences with my subjective opinions.
Why the secrecy?
Now, this a great segway to the topic of Groups. Recovery is an idea from a 57 year old Admin dealing with her own multiple sclerosis bullshit.
This community is a “Group” effort. The Founders have no personal insight as to another’s challenges. The MS Diet Collective withholds all judgements.
Some answers to problems are hard to get to, are delicate, and require discretion; topics like the achieving of orgasm; bladder and bowel issues; erectile dysfunction; and we could go on and on.
The MS Diet Collective will be giving always our permissions to discuss and share.
Once inside of a working group the use of plain language is encouraged. (All photos uploaded will be pixelated.)
If NSFW IS THE SIGN ON THE DOOR just use your best personal judgements. The MS Diet Collective is giving its members their freedoms to assemble.
Like will attract like. NO CENSORSHIPS WILL BE ENACTED.
Who is membership open to?
Individuals, book authors, researchers, academicians, vloggers, physicians…everyone.
How can memberships in Groups make the site better?
Sharing your experiences with someone who understands things you are going through, or another may have “a life hack” to assist you with a challenge.
Are vloggers able to earn income as on YouTube?
Yes. Presently there are two types of advertising. On the video site, a vlogger must disclose that compensation for the product being recommended has been made to the Content Creator.
And additional opportunities for income?
Yes. A user will (hopefully) have Admin privileges on their Profile / Blog Page. You are provided advertising real estate; it will have a picture of a healthy food and the website name and with a colored border that corresponds with your theme. In its place will be displayed the PDF file a user uploaded per the instructions in their Media Kit. There is no charge for the Media Kit.
If our software is unable to grant Admin privileges to users for this, there will be a nominal fee for us to assist someone with this.
There will be some product types ineligible for users to speak (per Federal Law).
